VDI LabOS · WHL
15–20 minute first conversation

A working laboratory operations product—ready to be challenged and configured around VDI reality.

This briefing is for Yanderine as VDI’s Lab Manager. Werner Harmonic Labs has built a configurable LabOS Core reference product, not merely a slide deck. The conversation separates what is operational now from what requires authorized VDI discovery and integration access.

What Werner Harmonic Labs has built

WORKING PRODUCT

WHL has built a working configurable specimen-operations product with a synthetic reference tenant. It covers veterinarian-authorized requisition context, serialized kits, carrier events, expected specimens, scanner-first receiving, accession mapping, exception ownership, operational dashboards and append-only activity receipts. It also includes the broader executive deal room, discovery intake, six synthetic workflow experiences, Astra assistance and the Pets Plug care-network boundary.

What VDI LabOS is

WHL proposal to VDI

A proposed modular laboratory operating and control environment that can connect clinic activation, orders, kits, carriers, expected specimens, receiving, accession references, exceptions, laboratory execution, clinical review, reports and approved follow-up. LabOS Core provides the reusable product foundation; VDI-specific roles, identifiers, rules and integrations remain configuration until authorized discovery.

Section 3

Why the product exists before discovery

The common laboratory operating pattern can be built without pretending to know VDI’s private implementation. Roles, identifiers, workflow stages, exception catalogs, service levels and integration adapters are configurable. Discovery would map the product to VDI’s authorized truth rather than begin development from zero.

  • Role-aware operational workspaces
  • Configurable state and exception model
  • Carrier-neutral shipment adapter boundary
  • LIS/LIMS accession mapping boundary
  • Append-only event and reason receipts
  • Synthetic reference tenant with no PHI

Preliminary Phase 1 candidate: Digital Specimen Spine

WHL’s current outside hypothesis is that end-to-end specimen visibility may be the strongest first implementation scope. It is not the entire product and it is not a predetermined VDI conclusion. Yanderine’s review may confirm it, reshape it or identify a better starting point.

  • Veterinarian-authorized order or submission
  • Serialized Kit Passport
  • Carrier tracking
  • Expected specimen
  • Receiving scan
  • Accession mapping
  • Exception queue and named ownership
  • Approved report-ready status

Section 5

The Pets Plug network proposition

Under a negotiated partnership, VDI could become a verified diagnostic institution. When the owner approves the relationship—and the veterinarian and VDI authorize the particular information—minimum approved case events may update the pet’s Passport while raw results, QC, proprietary methods, internal notes and unreleased interpretations remain inside the laboratory environment.

What only VDI can configure or validate

WHL can build the reusable product and reference workflow now. Only authorized VDI participants can confirm the real systems, identifiers, authority chain, exception frequencies, integration methods, quality controls and highest-value first deployment.

  • Actual user roles and permission boundaries
  • Existing LIS/LIMS and accession identifiers
  • Carrier and order-source integrations
  • VDI-specific exception and escalation rules
  • Production security and validation requirements
  • Measurable pilot baseline and success target

The decision requested

Next decision

Not approval of the complete platform. Decide whether the working product demonstrates enough operational and strategic value to justify a bounded VDI discovery, configuration and pilot-design engagement.
